How long will my screen-shots be stored?

We store the daily screen-shots of your web pages for the length of your contract, which is usually a year. We can also provide you with a monthly archive file which you can either download or we can provide to you on DVD.

Can I download the saved web pages?

When viewing either the thumbnail or the full screen image within your browser, you can right-click then select ‘Save as’ to save the image onto your computer.

Can you provide me with a copy of my saved web page screen-shots?

We can provide you with a regular monthly download or DVD of your content for safe storage.

How secure is my archived data?

We keep multiple redundant copies of your daily archived screen-shots, and they are only accessable via your password protected area.

Can you archive password protected areas?

Yes we can. You will need to provide us with the details, which will then be securely saved within your account.

Can you archive Secure HTTPS websites?

Yes, as we use real browsers, we can archive almost anything that can be viewed on the web.

Can you archive entire user journeys / shopping transactions?

The technology our service is built on can automate the clicking of buttons, typing text, completing forms and clicking of links, we can easily navigate from one page to another or even run through shopping cart scripts. This allows us to capture for example a screenshot of the terms and conditions agreed to by the customer.

How frequently can I archive my website?

Our standard frequency is daily, which is what we would recommend. If you do it less frequently, you are putting yourself at risk of compliance issues.

How do you perform your archiving?

We have extended a number of industry standard tools to meet with the demanding needs of the Website Archiving market. We use real web browsers on real operating systems to run through the pages on your site, taking screen-shots of the pages you require. These screen-shots are then uploaded to our secure archive server, where they can then be viewed.

What web browsers do you use?

We use a variety of real web browsers such as Firefox and Internet Explorer to capture the screen-shots of your website. If you have a particular requirement then please discuss this with us.

What screen resolution do you use?

We use browsers with a screen resolution of 1024 x 768, however we also scroll down for the entire page, so the image may be larger than this.

How do I access my archived screen-shots?

You can view your archived screen-shots from any internet enabled device, by simply logging in to your personal area within our customer portal. You do not need to install any software, just access it via a web browser.

Can you provide me with an ESCROW facility?

We do not operate a specific ESCROW facility, however we have a number of partners that we work with.

You say you archive from the cloud – what do you mean?

The Cloud is a term used to describe an expandable dynamic computing resource which has almost infinite capacity. It has turned computing into a utility where you pay for what you use, but don’t have to get involved in it. If you imagine the electricity utility grid, you only pay for what you use, you can keep plugging in more appliances, and don’t have to be an engineer to use it.

The web now plays a vital role in corporate communications, however few people realise that information published on a website has the same legal status as its hard copy equivalent. It is therefore essential to know exactly what has been shown to website visitors – just as you would keep copies of paper correspondence, or marketing material.

A number of regulatory and archiving compliance regulations exist for different industry sectors and geographies, such as: SEC and FINRA (US), Financial Services Authority (UK), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (US), Gramm-Leach Bliley Act. (US), Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) (US).

Website Archive is a customised solution from Cloud Testing, a leader in the field of Website Testing to meet your needs.
